Joshua Morrill received his PhD in Communication Science in 2004 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he continues to lecture on a variety of communication topics. He has taught persuasion, interpersonal communication and small group decision-making at the university, and his dissertation examined the role that opening statements have on juror decision-making. Joshua maintains an active interest in juries, and was interviewed by the Chicago Tribune as a jury expert during the trial of former Illinois governor George Ryan.
Morrill Solutions was started in 2001. While finishing his PhD, the South Central Library System (SCLS) approached Mr. Morrill and asked him to finish a research project that had not been completed by another research consultant. In completing that initial project, Joshua realized that there were many groups who needed high quality research but simply could not afford it. Morrill Solutions was started on the premise that that high quality information benefits everyone, and access to high quality research does not need to be expensive.
